SF Tech Week · October 2026

Hosted by Y·US Ventures, co-hosted by Bridgit

Founders’ Coffee: from a Partiful RSVP list to matched crews in one week.

Y·US Ventures created Founders’ Coffee and has hosted it for three years. This year Bridgit co-hosted, and the week-long meetup ran on Bridgit as an auto-matching event. Founders on the RSVP list were invited to join, and people who asked for companions were matched into small crews, each with its own group chat.

  • 567

    founders invited from 604 RSVPs

  • 83%

of the 76 who joined on Bridgit were placed in a crew (63 of 76)

  • 7 days

of continuous matching, Oct 5 to 11

The challenge

Tech Week packs hundreds of events into seven days. Founders RSVP to many and know almost no one at most of them. A long RSVP list doesn’t tell anyone who they’ll actually talk to.

What we did

  • Set up Founders’ Coffee as a public Bridgit event running the whole week.
  • Invited the RSVP list by email, every invite on a tracking link.
  • Turned on automatic crew matching: anyone looking for companions was grouped by interests and plans, with a group chat opened for each crew.
Each crew got its own chatCrews formed as people joined, with a sweep every 15 minutes, so late RSVPs were grouped too. Illustrative screen; names are not real attendees.

What happened

Of the 76 people who joined the event on Bridgit, 63 asked for companions and all 63 were placed in a crew: 83% of everyone who joined. “Placed” means matched into a group with an open chat. We don’t count attendance, because Bridgit doesn’t track who walks through the door.
