Child safety standards
Bridgit’s standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
Bridgit (operated by Bridgit Networks Inc.) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation. This page sets out our published standards, how anyone can report a concern, and how we respond. It applies to every part of the service — profiles, activities, events, photos and messages — on the web and in our iOS and Android apps.
You must be 18 or older to create a Bridgit account. We ask for a date of birth during sign-up and reject any account below that age, on every platform.
Bridgit is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use it. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we terminate it and delete the associated personal data.
The following are strictly prohibited on Bridgit:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any sexualised depiction of a minor, in any photo, profile, activity, event or message.
- Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or any attempt to arrange sexual contact with a minor.
- Trafficking, or advertising or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a minor.
- Using Bridgit to contact, meet or arrange to meet a minor for any sexual purpose.
- Accounts created by, or on behalf of, anyone under 18.
In the app. Every user profile and every chat message carries a report action. Choose “Safety concern” (or “Inappropriate content”) and add any detail you can. Reports can also be filed from the in-app Safety screen. You do not need to be matched with someone to report them.
By email. Anyone — including people who do not use Bridgit — can write to support@settledbybridgit.com. This mailbox is our designated point of contact for child safety and CSAE matters, and reaches a person who can act on the report.
Blocking. You can block any user at any time. Blocking is enforced in both directions: blocked users stop appearing in matching and neither side can message the other.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Reports involving child safety are prioritised above all other report types and are reviewed by a human. Where a report is substantiated we will, as appropriate:
- remove the offending content;
- terminate the account and block the person from creating a new one;
- preserve the relevant records as required for a lawful investigation;
- report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and, where required, to the relevant regional or national authorities.
Profile photographs are additionally screened by an automated image moderation service before they are published, and anything flagged is held for human review.
Bridgit complies with applicable child safety laws in the markets where it operates, including US federal reporting obligations for apparent CSAM.
