Delete your Bridgit account

How to erase your account and personal data, in the app or by email.

You can delete your Bridgit account and personal data yourself, at any time, from inside the app. If you have already uninstalled the app, you can request deletion by email instead. Either route deletes the data described below.

1. Delete it yourself, in the app

Android / iOS app: Profile tab → Settings → Delete account.

Web: sign in at settledbybridgit.com/login → Profile → Delete account.

You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm. The erasure runs immediately, you are signed out on every device, and it cannot be undone.

2. If you have already uninstalled the app

Email privacy@settledbybridgit.com with the subject "Account deletion request". Send it from the email address on your Bridgit account where possible — if you cannot, tell us which address the account uses and we will verify that it is yours before erasing anything. General questions can go to support@settledbybridgit.com.

You do not need to reinstall the app, and there is no charge. We do not ask for any additional personal information to process the request.

What is erased
  • • Your email address, username, bio, profile photo and photo uploads
  • • Your location, interests and languages
  • • Your privacy and messaging preferences
  • • The matching profile derived from your data (your embedding)
  • • Your push-notification registrations — notifications stop arriving
  • • Your sign-in credentials and sessions, including any linked Google or LinkedIn identity and any outstanding magic links

Activities you were hosting that had not finished yet are cancelled. You stop appearing in Discover and in matching.

What is kept, and why
  • • Your display name, age and city stay attached to past activities, so the people you actually met can still recognise who they met
  • • Messages and ratings already exchanged with other participants stay where they are — they are part of someone else's record too
  • • Reports you filed, and reports filed about you, are kept for trust & safety so we can investigate patterns
  • • Aggregate counts such as how many activities you hosted or attended, and your reliability score
  • • Your account settings — notification preferences, your availability schedule and matching preferences such as search radius and age range — remain stored with the deactivated account record until it is purged; they are no longer used for anything once your account is deleted
How long it takes

In-app deletion erases the data listed above in the same request — there is no waiting period and no recovery window. Email requests are actioned by hand; our published commitment is that personal information is removed within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it for legal compliance, dispute resolution or trust & safety. Backups roll off on the standard backup-rotation cadence.

You can sign up again later with the same email address, but it creates a brand-new account carrying none of your old history.
